About Me
While the ceremony that we put together is all about you and your loved one, you need to know that this important ceremony is in a safe pair of hands!
I am originally from Kent, but moved to Saham Hills in Norfolk 5 years ago, where I live with my husband, Rob.
I am a very proud mum and nanny, utterly horse mad and love modern jive dancing, particularly to 50’s and 60’s music.
After school, I trained as a secretary but gave this up when I started my family. As my children grew, I got involved in activities that they were interested in and found myself training to teach trampolining. A twist of fate led me to take further qualifications to teach those with a disability. I went on to start my own trampoline club, being the first in Kent to fully integrate disabled young people into a mainstream club. My husband and I also ran a day/training service for adults with disabilities on our farm.
After a two-year sojourn in France, where we renovated a house, we returned to England and I started work with a charity supporting disabled children, young people and their families. I developed two new services for young people and worked with the charity for 19 years. Being able to support families with disabled and life limited children and being able to offer support in times of crisis and through the loss of a child, has been a privilege which has taught me so much about life, compassion and empathy. I have worked in a co-productive way with professionals, colleagues, family members as well as young people with a range of learning disabilities and am able to adapt my communication to meet specific needs.
It was the loss of my sister, at whose funeral I delivered the tribute, that I realised the importance of a funeral service being personal, unique and able to tell the life story of a loved one and ultimately led me to this path in my life.
The skills I have gained in writing and presenting information as well as supporting people through the most difficult times, have fully equipped me to become a celebrant. I love talking to people and hearing their stories and am compassionate and empathic. I love being able to offer ceremonies that not only enable remembrance, but also celebration of the life of a loved one; a ceremony that showcases their personality and character as well as capturing their uniqueness.
