Hello
Hello, I’m Karen,
I am a fully qualified independent Funeral Celebrant working in Norfolk and Suffolk. As a professional Celebrant I am proud to deliver bespoke and highly personal ceremonies, each one uniquely crafted to help you say a respectful farewell, whilst also giving you the opportunity to celebrate the life of your loved one.
How I Work With You
I will visit you at your home, or at another place of your choosing as preferred. The most important thing for me, as your Celebrant, is to spend time getting to know you and to talk about the life of the person who the ceremony is for.
Listening, Guiding and Helping you Choose
I will listen carefully to your wishes and offer practical, creative suggestions for the content and structure of the ceremony. This will help you make informed decisions about what feels right for you and your loved one.
Sometimes it is easier to begin by knowing what you do not want, rather than what you do. As your Celebrant, I can support you through that conversation with sensitivity and care.
There is now much more choice in the type of ceremony available, and this can feel overwhelming at such a difficult time. As your professional Celebrant, I can help you understand the options and choose what feels most appropriate.
Creating a Ceremony Around Their Life Story
The role of a celebrant is to gather as much information as possible about the person who has died — their life, personality, character and the qualities that make them unique. I will take time to understand how you wish to remember and honour your loved one.
The ceremony will be shaped around their life story and can include words, pictures, music, readings or anything else that feels meaningful to you.
Although I am a Civil Funeral Celebrant, I can include religious elements if you would like them. I can help you choose hymns, prayers or readings, which I can deliver myself or which can be shared by a friend or family member.
I can also help you choose poems and music that feel meaningful and appropriate for your ceremony.
I will carefully weave together the different strands of their life and, where needed, help navigate sensitive subjects with thoughtfulness and respect.
If there is anyone who you would like to take part in the funeral service, I will work with them to help them deliver their tribute.
As a professional Celebrant, I carefully craft each ceremony from the information, anecdotes and small details you share with me. These personal touches help create a ceremony that is unique, individual and meaningful. Every ceremony is written in my own words and shaped to reflect the life, character and individuality of the person being remembered.

Remembering and Celebrating a Life
Whilst a funeral is a difficult and sad occasion, it can also be a meaningful opportunity to honour your loved one’s life and celebrate the memories you shared.
My aim as your Celebrant is to create a ceremony that helps everyone attending recognise the character, individuality and life of the person they knew.
A funeral often brings tears, but it can also be a time to remember moments that bring comfort, fondness and even a smile.
I will help you recall happy, amusing and meaningful stories that capture your loved one’s personality and encourage others to reflect on their own memories too. By sharing these memories, I can help you find the right way to say goodbye while offering comfort for you and others who share your love and respect for the person who has died.
Reviewing the Ceremony Script
Before the ceremony, I will send you the funeral script for approval so you can be confident that it feels right. No ceremony is delivered without your full approval of the ceremony content.
I can also arrange a souvenir copy of the script for you to keep afterwards if you would like this.
On the Day of the Ceremony
As your Celebrant, I will lead the ceremony in the way that feels right for you. I can take the lead from the front, or I can offer quiet support from nearby while you, or someone else, stands to pay tribute.
My role is to use my experience, resources and understanding of your wishes to help you create a personal and meaningful farewell that feels right for you and your loved one.
